Design Philosophy

There is, believe it or not, a consistent design philosophy behind this site. It's a pretty simple one, and very basic, so it may not come across as strongly as "large blue widgets" or what have you.
The design points are as follows:
- Keep all the layout in CSS
- Try it on as many different screen and font sizes as possible.
- Make sure it's standards compliant
- Try in a few different browsers, but if it's broken in a broken browser (NS 4.78*cough*), don't worry about it.
- Make sure that the content is readable, even if the clever stylesheets look odd.
The goal is to have a site which looks reasonably good on a standards compliant platform, and doesn't look too bad on broken stuff. and also, to have some content, which is the only reason people read your web pages anyway.
One source of much inspiration is Eric Meyer's Web Site.
